Small group visits to our farm in Walla Walla
I’d love to have you and your group come for a visit.
Unlike many other businesses, I don’t have employees or farm hands. It’s just me, Elaine, working this farm full time all on my own, apart from some occasional help from my husband on the weekends.
That means I’m not always able to accommodate requests for private group visits as spring and fall are the busiest on the farm.
It also means that I have some additional requirements that you might not be used to for standard field trips and excursions:
A 1:5 ratio of chaperons/teachers to kids/students, with a maximum of 30 people total.
Every minor must have an Acknowledgement of Risk form signed by a parent/legal guardian.
Advanced payment is required to secure your date.
Option 1 - Alpaca Meet & Greet
Our most popular experience. All ages welcome; perfect for kids aged 4 to 99.
Learn the basics of alpacas while students interact with them in our pasture.
The alpacas presence alone naturally brings up many questions about their fiber, fiber uses, temperament, native origins, relation to camels, and everything in between. Learning about alpacas while hand feeding them has a way of teaching that locks in the memory for years to come!
Price $15 per child/student with a $125 minimum for this 1-hour experience.
Option 2 - All things Alpaca
Perfect for those wanting just a little more. All ages welcome; best for kids aged 8 and up.
We’ll start with a Meet & Greet (outlined above), then we’ll take a brief tour of the barn to see where they sleep at night.
Students will be then get an overview of fiber processing — seeing how we take raw fiber to make finished garments.
Lastly, we’ll step into the Dye Garden and Dye Studio to learn how we grow pigment-bearing plants to produce natural color for our yarn and garments.
Price is $20 per child/student with $160 minimum for the 1.5-hour experience.
