Visiting the farm

If you’ve ever dreamed of getting up close and personal with alpacas, visiting our farm is a must-do experience!

Our gentle, curious alpaca herd is as charming as they are fascinating, and spending time with them is a relaxing and memorable adventure for all ages.

Whether you’re planning your first visit or returning to see how the herd has grown, this guide will help you prepare for an unforgettable day.

Why Visit an Alpaca Farm?

Alpacas are known for their soft fleece, adorable faces, and sweet personalities, but there’s so much more to discover! Here’s why a farm visit is the perfect outing:

  • Meet Alpacas Up Close – Get to know their quirky behaviors and gentle nature.

  • Learn About Sustainable Farming – Discover how alpaca fiber is harvested and why it’s eco-friendly.

  • Relax & Enjoy the Outdoors – Farm visits are a great way to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life.

  • Capture Amazing Photos – Alpacas love the camera (and alpaca selfies are priceless!).

What to Wear & Bring

Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothes. Don’t wear your Sunday best. We’ll be out in the pastures, walking on grass and other organic material — old sneakers or boots or any closed-toe shoes is best.

Camera. Sunscreen. Water bottle. Whatever else you need to comfortably enjoy an hour out in nature.

No pets or dogs (none left in vehicles either). Alpacas are easily spooked and for biosecurity reasons we cannot have them on the farm. Thanks so much for understanding.

  • We can accommodate service animals - please notify us upon arrival.

Farm Etiquette & How to Interact with Alpacas

Alpacas are friendly but shy animals, so knowing how to interact with them makes for a better experience:

✔️ Let them approach you – Alpacas are naturally curious but prefer to come to you on their own terms.
✔️ Move slowly & calmly – Sudden movements or loud noises may startle them.
✔️ Spread out – Give everyone room - alpacas that feel trapped or cornered will be fearful and are more prone to run away.

What to Expect on Your Visit

We’ll start with a quick safety chat by the barn. Then we’ll go into the alpaca’s pasture to hand feed their favorite snack. Everyone will get a cup with kibble to feed animals.

As the shepherdess, I’ll be out there with you to answer all your questions - take pictures - enjoy the beauty of Walla Walla farm land - hear the ducks across the road - and maybe see the neighbor horses stroll by.

After all the alpacas are fed and the photos are taken - the farm store will be open.

Our farm store is stocked with all kinds of products made from the alpacas you just met. That’s right! We only sell what we’ve produced on the farm. We have knitted hats, scarves, mittens and headbands. We also have yarn for those who knit or crochet.

A visit to our alpaca farm is more than just a fun day out—it’s an opportunity to connect with nature, learn something new, and experience the joy of these lovable animals.
